We are enjoying some amazing weather today. Low 70s!! The same for tomorrow!
Yesterday we went to the pool. There were very few in the pool - not sure where they were but the most we ever had in 3 hours was 8 people in the pool. I got in and worked with all of them. B met his goal of swimming the length of the pool but turning his head to breath versus lifting it up. Jbird could not get past 'how hard' his goal was to make much progress. I took of JB's life jacket and supported him while he swam. Several times I briefly let go of him. He soon started sinking, but did not freak out. (There was a 3 year old in the pool the other day swimming, so figured I could start with JB.)
We had all gotten out of the pool and were drying off. In walked a father with his daughter and son who was around 10. B immediately perked up and was all eyes as he watched them playing in the pool. Then the dad sat on the side of the pool and the boy went to the deep end. He asked the dad what stroke he should swim. Then the dad called out a stroke, the boy swam to the other end and back. That was it...I knew it was coming, but B said he wanted to get in. So for the next 15 minutes this dad would call out strokes and B and this other kid would swim. B watched the other kid dive in and tried his hardest, but all he could ever do was more of a flop. It was so cute to watch but he kept up with the other kid, trying his best. Thankful for the Olympics right now and how I can point out form on the tv and then we can go and practice in the pool.
Quiet weekend ahead. We have 2 birthday parties tomorrow, but other than that, not much else. Have several projects in the works which I hope to complete over the weekend.
