We have had another cold spell and some snow, but thankfully not as much snow as predicted!

Another 2 more weeks of basketball.  The early morning practices for Benjamin have been awesome.  He needs the early wake ups so that he goes to sleep at night.  A few days ago the middle school called me and said Ben was in the office having a hard time breathing.  He had a deep cough but never had any issues before with breathing.  The school nurse checked him out and said his lungs sounded fine but it appeared to be his throat/esophagus.  The doctor's office was not real keen on making an appointment for breathing issues, so they encouraged us to go to their urgent care facility.  So, we went and the doctor prescribed an inhaler.  He has used it several times before basketball/PE and says it really helps.  Not sure if we are venturing into the world of exercise induced asthma or just getting through a bad cold.  Time will tell.

Today Ben is up at the ski hill.  He earned a trip with the school through their Academic Behavioral Awards.  The really cool thing is, he will also be given another lift ticket/rental to be used later in the ski season!  Score.  I am saving up money for next winter and going to see if we can finally commit to lessons and a frequency card for the boys.  We live too close to ski resorts not to get on them more often.

I am not sure how the conversation came up, but Benjamin and I were talking about actor Kirk Cameron.  He has been in a movie or two that the boys really like.  Anyway, I started telling them about a tv I watched growing up called Growing Pains.  So, we googled it and found the episodes online.  I am sure Benjamin would not mention it at school, but he loves and it often asks to watch another episode.  It is so fun for me to watch it as a parent now.  It is hilarious humor for me and Benjamin cracks up watching me laugh.  There will be a scene at their house and the phone rings.  I tell the boys, see, when I was growing up we did not even have cordless phones, you were attached to the wall.  So fun for them to see how different it was just 35 years ago.  Makes them appreciate their technology.

Benjamin has gotten involved in the drama club!  I am so stoked.  I have always thought he would do well in drama, but could never persuade him of that.  Not too long ago he met the drama teacher at school.  I forget what they were doing, but she was so impressed with his projection, that she encouraged him to get involved.  Well, they have a club, after school, that is actually run by another lady.  Benjamin decided to check it out!  They are working on very short O Henry 'plays'.  Benjamin got a part in one of the plays.  It is just a few minutes long and he has 10-15 lines, but it is in introduction.  It will be interesting to see it, because he has to reach out several times and hold the hand of another girl.

Working out is still going great.  I have found a program that I love and am always motivated to go.  Crossfit is everything I had ever looked for.  The gym is doing a 90 day nutritional challenge and we are 5 days in.  I love it.  It is a science based eating plan.  I eat over 2 pounds of meat a day, along with a prescribed number of carbs and fats, based around my workouts.  (The plan lists some veggies, too, but have not quite incorporated all of them yet.  My coach, who is the olympic athlete, made the mistake of telling me that she does not eat many veggies, so I have happily followed her.)  I can honestly say, that I get tired of eating.  I feel like that is all I do.  I have yet to be hungry.  I am at the grocery store 2-3 times a week, buying more fruit or protein.

Not much else here.  Everyone is so ready for snow to be gone and warmer temps.
