Meet Bree (or Breeze as we occasionally call her). A contractor was working at one of JR's properties and he had his puppy with him. JR has wanted a dog for years and so of course loved playing with the puppy. Come to find out, the owner had 2 other puppies ~ all different breeds and came from different places. (Not sure what they were thinking but they were correct that they needed to give one of them up.) He originally gave us a white puppy that was amazing. However, he missed her too much the next morning, so he asked if he could have her back. (It was mutual on both sides that it was a trial run for both of us.) I was doing the hand off so he asked if I would consider looking at the other puppy. The rest is history. (I just happen to often get her with her tongue out.)
She found a corn on the cob in the field behind our house.
She is just over 3 months, so we are assuming she was born somewhere around Memorial Day. The guy we got her from had not had her long and had gotten her from Human Society. Whoever had her initially had done some basic training, which is nice. She gets along great with all the neighborhood dogs, loves to explore so does not immediately come back when called, she loves to play and does fairly well doing her business outside. Yesterday she climbed on a log which rests against our fence and figured out she could jump over our short, 3 foot fence. However, when she tried it later in the day, her front paw got wedged between the fence slats and she was yelping. Needless to say, she has not jumped since then.
The boys have been pretty responsible thus far. We divided dog chores and they have been good about keeping up with them. None of us are really bothered with our allergies, so looks like she will be a keeper. She is most likely a border collie/Australian shepherd mix with beautiful brown markings on her underside. She loves walking in the field and all the crazy smells out there. She is fixed, so we don't have to worry about adding to our numbers.
