Tuesday the school had a 'bubble walk'. All the younger grades lined up outside, creating a walkway between the two lines. Then the fourth graders came out and walked through as the other kids blew bubbles. (This is their fourth grade send off, since fourth grade moves to middle school for fifth grade). Before hand all fourth graders got a shirt and had other classmates sign it with sharpie. I had not been able to locate B, so strategically placed myself hoping I would not miss him. To my surprise, he led the way, right behind his teacher.
This kid got some playground time after the walk.
They all love spinning on this contraption. It just goes round and round and round. Not for me..no thank you!
Each of the boys made a batch of chocolate chip cookies. I helped Jbird with a few measurements, but for the most part they did it all start to finish. Then B helped me package them up to give them to the teachers today. A part of me was getting irritated because one of the boys kept adding last years' teachers to the list because they really wanted to give them something. Then I realized, who cares how many packages I end up making...my boys are learning to serve and give to others.
I am heading up to the school in the morning for a special assembly. They will give out perfect attendance awards and Jbird will get one. We never set out to get perfect attendance, but every time spring break rolls around I figure if we have not missed yet, try to make it to the end of school. So thankful for our healthy genes and that we are seldom sick. B would have gotten perfect attendance except the one day he threw up at school.
Friday afternoon we have invited about 10 families over for root beer floats as an end of school year celebration. Looking forward to having lots of kids running around!
Laying low most of the weekend, hopefully enjoying the weather!
